I suggest that you walk with me a few meters along the path through the pre-tundra rare-coniferous forest. In the meantime, I’ll share my thoughts with you.
Что-то задерживается зима в этом году! Ходил в лес, только вернулся. Природа давно готова надеть белое покрывало. Но, что-то никак не получается. Предлагаю Вам вместе со мной пройти несколько метров по тропинке через предтундровый редкостойный лес. А я пока поделюсь мыслями с Вами.
Many years have passed since I worked in forestry. But the forest in the soul does not let go. I can’t just walk through the woods. I look around as if at my own plot. Thoughts constantly come to mind: in this place you need to do one thing, and here in general a sanitary cabin is asking for!
So today the forester woke up in me. Each person perceives the forest in his own way. If we talk about logging, then most often we have to deal with three «forest perceptions».
Много лет прошло с тех пор, когда работал в лесном хозяйстве. Но лес в душе так и не отпускает. Не могу просто так ходить по лесу. Смотрю вокруг, как на свой участок. Постоянно в голову приходят мысли: в этом месте нужно сделать одно, а здесь вообще санитарная рубка просится!
Вот и сегодня во мне проснулся лесник. Каждый человек по-своему воспринимает лес. Если говорить про рубку леса, то чаще всего приходиться сталкиваться с тремя «лесовосприятиями».

Лесозаготовитель, глядя на лес, в первую очередь видит его товарную ценность, насколько сложно до него добраться, чтобы спилить и тому подобное. В общем, если прямо говорить — он видит деньги.
An ecologist in the forest sees a whole metropolis in the context of a huge number of habitats — a place of life for a myriad of forest inhabitants, be it an animal, a bird or some lichen on a tree trunk.

Some old decaying spruce forest full of wind will delight the ecologist with an abundance of rare species, while it will depress the logger with lost wood and the forester with a nursery of bark beetles, and the cutting, densely overgrown with young pine, will delight the forester’s eye and cause little interest in the ecologist.
Какой-нибудь старый распадающийся полный ветровала ельник будет восхищать эколога обилием редких видов, при этом будет удручать лесозаготовителя потерянной древесиной и лесника рассадником короедов, а вырубка, густо заросшая молодым сосняком, будет радовать глаз лесника и вызывать мало интереса у эколога.
In fact, they are all right and all these views have the right to life, since everyone describes the visible part of something bigger, which is the forest. It should be taken into account that most of the forests in our country, with the exception of protected and protective ones, are intended for economic use, that is, logging, when the «age of ripeness» of the forest is reached.
На самом деле, все они правы и все эти взгляды имеют право на жизнь, так как каждый описывает видимую ему часть чего-то нечто большего, коим является лес. Необходимо учесть, что большая часть лесов в нашей стране, за исключением заповедных и защитных, предназначена для хозяйственного использования, то есть — рубки, при достижении «возраста спелости» леса.
